Learning together in the garden and the kitchen does much more than put fresh nutritious food on the table. We are building strong communities, providing fresh produce to community food banks and creating a more sustainable resilient city. Come and be part of the good food movement and have fun in the process.
You and your team are welcome in our 3,000-square-foot culinary facility in the heart of Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, to share a meal you’ve made together with guidance from our engaging and supportive instructors. We’ve broken down the process to easy tasks that teams can complete together learning skills they’ll retain. And you’ll come away with a stronger connection with the team mates.
Or, maybe you want a traditional cooking class. Come and learn from a local Chicago chef in action in our open kitchen. Then everyone cooks at one of many worktables, and shares the final meal together around our farm table.
We work with you to customize your event to your specification —whether you’re looking for a fun way to reward your team after a successful project or explore communication and problem-solving skills in a low-pressure environment.
Competition Team-building Classes
In our Top Chef-style cooking classes, teams work together to create a seasonal dish from a mystery box of ingredients under the guidance of our chef. We facilitate and encourage leadership and team engagement during the class, making it a unique and memorable outing for staff development.
And best of all, your event directly supports Peterson Garden Project’s free educational programming for refugees, seniors, youth, and others in need in the community.
Our Community Cooking School is where plot meets plate, where we help everyone learn to cook for themselves, and where everyone is welcome at the table.
